What to expect at The Kuala Lumpur Men Fashion Week 2026 (TKLMFW 2026)

The aristocratic elegance, royal bloodlines in the front row, and a theme literally called "Godfather". TKLMFW 2026 is Malaysia's most august men's fashion week yet.

Malaysia's menswear calendar has a new centrepiece. The Kuala Lumpur Men's Fashion Week (TKLMFW) returns for its second edition from 23–26 July 2026 at the M Resort & Hotel Kuala Lumpur, and this year it arrives with a theme as cinematic as its guest list: Godfather.

A Theme Built on Power and Restraint

Under Founder and Chairman YM Raja Dato' Sri Rezza Shah, TKLMFW 2026 draws its visual language from 1940s and '50s New York. Think the loose, rustic tailoring of Sicilian dress giving way to sharper, more commanding silhouettes, before resolving into the collection's defining image: the formal tuxedo, finished with a single red rose. It's a theme that tracks closely with GC's own reading of modern masculinity.

Four Days, Sixteen Showcases

Across four days, the runway will move between heritage and spectacle. Established Malaysian names — Rizman Ruzaini, Radzuan Radziwill, Bon Zainal, Tom Abang Saufi, and Abu — anchor the local lineup, alongside craft-driven showcases from Kraftangan Malaysia and Batik Boutique that place traditional Malaysian textile work inside a contemporary tailoring context.

The regional bench is equally strong, with Lisa Von Tang (Singapore) and Jeny Tjahyawati (Indonesia) bringing distinct Southeast Asian perspectives to the "Godfather" brief, while international houses Roberto Cavalli, Stefano Ricci, and Boggi Milano round out the week's international presence.

A few collections stand out for how directly they engage the theme. Rizman Ruzaini's "The Don" builds a full narrative around earned power, dressing masculinity in rhinestone and embellishment without apology. Dicky Ishak Couturier's "Black Maharaja" takes the opposite route with black velvet, hand embroidery, and royal restraint. And Bon Zainal's Heritage Tailored Collection, including a Songket Signature Suit and a Royal Heritage capsule with handwoven motifs, brings Malaysian craft directly into gala-ready tailoring, worth watching for anyone building out a wardrobe for the season's black-tie calendar.

TKLMFW also carries forward its commitment to new talent, with a dedicated student showcase, EDITION-01, giving emerging designers a platform alongside established houses.

Who's in the Room

Hosted by actress and former Miss World Malaysia Thanuja Ananthan, the week draws a guest list spanning royalty, diplomats, and industry leaders, guided by a Style Council that includes His Royal Highness Tengku Arif Temenggong Tengku Fahad Mu'adzam Shah, Elizabeth Hew-Marini of the Marini's Group, and Michele Dossi, President of Italcham Malaysia.
