There are moments in time when celebration becomes a meditation on the art of living well.

Such was the case when Polo Ralph Lauren marked the tenth anniversary of its Shaw Centre Emblematic Store with an exclusive screening of Very Ralph, the acclaimed documentary chronicling the life of Mr. Ralph Lauren himself.

The venue alone spoke volumes: a private mansion meticulously styled after Mr. Lauren's own residence, where every detail whispered of that ineffable Ralph Lauren sensibility - the marriage of aspiration of elegance and ease. Here, surrounded by the material poetry of refined living, regional luminaries gathered to honour a designer who has spent over half a century defining what it means to dress, and indeed to live, with purpose and panache.

Among the distinguished guests: Ryujin of ITZY, Chinese actors Miles Wei and Winwin, Thai talents Jitaraphol Potiwihok and Tawinan Anukoolprasert, Indonesian vocalist Tiara Andini, alongside Singapore's own Jeanette Aw, Rebecca Lim, and Desmond Tan. Each, in their own right, embodies that particular Ralph Lauren ethos - individuals who understand that style is not merely worn, but lived.

Directed by the award-winning Susan Lacy, Very Ralph offers something increasingly rare: authenticity. Through extensive interviews with family, friends, and cultural luminaries, the documentary traces an arc from the Bronx to the pinnacle of global fashion. It is, fundamentally, a story of the American Dream realized through vision and taste.

"What I do is about living," Mr. Lauren reflects in the film. "It's about living the best life you can and enjoying the fullness of life around you - from what you wear, to the way you live, to the way you love."

This philosophy - that clothing is merely the beginning of a larger conversation about lifestyle - revolutionized fashion. Mr. Lauren pioneered the concept of the complete lifestyle brand, understanding instinctively that a gentleman's wardrobe and his worldview are inextricably linked.

As guests departed into the Singapore night, one sensed they carried with them more than memories of an elegant evening. They carried, perhaps, a renewed appreciation for the transformative power of considered living. The very essence of Ralph Lauren's enduring legacy, now flourishing into its second decade at Shaw Centre.
