Hong Kong became the stage for an extraordinary celebration of heritage and artistry as Audemars Piguet, the venerated Swiss maison of haute horlogerie, marked its 150th anniversary. The venue - Phillips Gallery in the West Kowloon Cultural District - was transformed into a living homage to the brand’s origins in Le Brassus, Switzerland, bringing centuries of watchmaking mastery to the heart of Asia.

The event welcomed over 250 distinguished guests, including icons like Naomi Campbell, Simone Biles, Lee Sung Kyung, Elaine Zhong, and Terrence Lau, alongside Thai luminaries Bright Vachirawit, Win Metawin, and Te Tawan. They were invited not merely to witness watches, but to engage with living embodiments of craft, vision, and timelessness.

Under the stewardship of Ilaria Resta, CEO of Audemars Piguet, and Peggy Hu, CEO for China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, the evening unfolded as a narrative of legacy and innovation. Guests experienced the brand’s latest creations, including 40mm contemporary masterpieces from the Royal Oak and Code 11.59 collections - watches that fuse refined design with technical excellence, reflecting the maison’s philosophy that true luxury is timeless, not transient.

A highlight of the evening was the debut of three flying tourbillon timepieces inspired by nature, each adorned with vibrant stone dials — red rubellite, blue sodalite, and green malachite. These pieces, from the Code 11.59 collection, demonstrate how Audemars Piguet marries mechanical sophistication with aesthetic poetry, transforming the wristwatch into a vessel of enduring artistry.

Complementing the mechanical marvels was a 38mm perpetual calendar, unveiled earlier this year, whose dial captures the celestial passage of time and the eternal dialogue between watchmaker and cosmos. These small-dial creations showcase Audemars Piguet’s ability to blend ergonomics, elegance, and precision, making technical mastery simultaneously accessible and deeply personal.

Luxury, however, extends beyond watches alone. The evening included an exclusive cocktail menu curated by Michelin 2-star chef Vicky Lau, demonstrating that gastronomy, like haute horlogerie, thrives at the intersection of tradition, innovation, and refinement. As the night drew to a close, the stage welcomed PinkPantheress, the British singer-songwriter, and TOKiMONSTA, Grammy-nominated DJ, whose performances fused East and West, rhythm and heritage - echoing the maison’s own philosophy of global elegance grounded in craft.

This was not an event for mass spectacle. It was an invitation to the few who understand that excellence is cultivated, preserved, and celebrated. Audemars Piguet’s 150th anniversary exemplifies how true luxury is anchored in legacy, not immediacy; in depth, not mere display.

For those fortunate enough to witness it, the night was more than a celebration of a brand. It was a testament to timelessness, discretion, and the art of enduring influence - values that echo the codes of aristocracy and the gentlemanly pursuit of perfection. Audemars Piguet, after 150 years, reminds us that true mastery is not only measured in years or achievements, but in the permanence of beauty, craft, and culture.
