LOEWE Presents a Short Film By Luca Guadagnino And Jonathan Anderson Previewing the SS 24 Men’s Collection

LOEWE creative director Jonathan Anderson has joined forces with long-time collaborator and friend Luca Guadagnino to create ‘I Dreamt of LOEWE’, a short film previewing the new SS24 men’s collection.

LOEWE creative director Jonathan Anderson has joined forces with long-time collaborator and friend Luca Guadagnino to create ‘I Dreamt of LOEWE’, a short film previewing the new SS24 men’s collection.

Set at David Zwirner New York amidst the gallery’s recent exhibition featuring Echolalia, 2010 by Austrian artist Franz West, the two-minute film unfolds as a psychedelic dream featuring models Andrea Isidori, Elliott McDean, Malick Anderson, and Adrians Smats. Asleep on a sofa, Andrea is transported to the otherworldly dream where he finds himself surrounded by West’s colourful, larger-than-life sculptures. When new characters appear, the hallucinogenic vision reaches a bass-thumping crescendo; transfixed by the sculptures and dressed in the new SS24 runway collection, their uncanny poses highlight the season’s elongated silhouettes, tactile fabrications and crystal-embellished sunglasses. The SS24 men’s runway show will take place at 12pm CET on Saturday June 24 in Paris and live stream on loewe.com and LOEWE channels.

Luca Guadagnino was born in Palermo on August 10th 1971 to Sicilian father and Algerian mother. He is a Director, Producer, Screenwriter, Architect and Designer. Academy Award Nominee in 2018 and Winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director at Venice Film Festival in 2022; he lives in Milan.

Austrian artist Franz West (1947–2012) developed a unique aesthetic that engaged equally high and low reference points and privileged social interaction as an intrinsic component of his work. While he was known primarily as a sculptor, his body of work incorporated drawing, collage, video, and installation, using papier-mâché, furniture, cardboard, plaster, found imagery, and other diverse materials. By playfully manipulating everyday materials and imagery in novel ways, West created objects that serve to redefine art as a social viewers interact with works of art and with each other.

David Zwirner is a contemporary art gallery with locations in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and Hong Kong, and currently represents more than seventy artists and estates. The gallery has been home to innovative, singular, and pioneering exhibitions across a variety of media and genres.
