Volvo's ES90 is the first fully electric premium sedan and it is beautiful

Exclusivity redefined.

Some cars announce themselves with noise and fury. The new Volvo ES90 does the opposite. It arrives quietly, confidently, like a well-tailored suit that doesn't need logos to make its point.

This is Volvo's first fully electric sedan, and it's being assembled right here in Shah Alam. Starting at RM339,888, with a 2% early-bird discount for the first 100 bookings before March 31st, the ES90 isn't trying to reinvent luxury. It's simply redefining what a premium sedan should feel like in 2026.

A Sanctuary on Four Wheels

Slide into the ES90 and you immediately understand what Volvo means by "Scandinavian design." This isn't about showiness. It's about space, light, and materials that feel genuine. The 3.1-metre wheelbase creates a rear cabin that rivals first-class lounges. Sustainable Nordico upholstery in Charcoal offers comfort without compromise, while the panoramic electrochromic roof blocks 99.9% of UV rays yet lets you adjust transparency at a touch.

The 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system - delivering 1,610 watts through Dolby Atmos - transforms the cabin into an intimate concert hall. An exclusive Abbey Road Studios mode even recreates the acoustics of that legendary London recording space. Combined with Volvo's quietest cabin ever, it's a mobile sanctuary for those who appreciate the finer things.

Performance That Doesn't Shout

The ES90's 800-volt architecture means 10 to 80% charging in just 22 minutes. More importantly, it delivers 651km of range - enough to reach Penang or JB without anxiety. The 0-100km/h sprint takes 6.6 seconds, but that's almost beside the point. This car is about effortless composure, not drag strip bragging rights.

As someone who's spent years racing superbike at triple-digit speeds, I've learned that true confidence comes from control, not chaos. The ES90 gets this. Its NVIDIA-powered brain processes data from five radars, seven cameras, and twelve sensors, creating what Volvo calls a "360-degree safety shield." It's technology that serves you, not the other way around.

Built for Life, Not Just Driving

The fastback silhouette hides genuine practicality: 424 litres of boot space expanding to 904 litres with seats folded, plus a 27-litre front compartment for charging cables. Four-zone climate control and advanced air purification keep the cabin pristine. To be precise, it is 95% of PM2.5 particles blocked, 99.9% of allergens removed.

Even the materials tell a story: 29% recycled aluminium, 18% recycled steel, FSC-certified wood panels. Luxury doesn't mean waste.

The Verdict

The ES90 isn't for those who need attention. It's for those who've earned the right to travel in comfort, security, and style without explaining themselves to anyone.
