Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad - Editor's Lifetime Achievement Award For Noblesse Oblige

Dr Mahathir had in him the stuff which legends are made. The astonishing victory on 9 May 2018 propelled him to return to the premiership yet again. It is certainly an extraordinary comeback. As the world's oldest statesman, the Prime Minister of Malaysia treats his nation with the utmost seriousness and dedication - most notably to solve the problems faced by the country.

YM Tunku Alizakri Raja Muhammad Alias - Editor's Special Award For Noblesse Oblige

Under Tunku Alizakri's leadership, The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) grew to become one of the world's largest pension fund of more than RM800 billion. On top of that, EPF was recommended by the World Bank Group as a reference case study to other governments around the world. Going ahead, expect Tunku Alizakri strive to maintain the social well-being of the citizens at an equal pace as the nation prospers economically.

YM Tengku Dato' Yusof - Bon Zainal Most Elegant Man

Tengku Dato' Yusof is to style what Roger Federer is to the tennis court – effortless, graceful and with abundance of swag. Tengku has achieved "sprezzatura", a formidable aura that very few men in Malaysia achieved.

Wong transformed Star Media Group (SMG) from print to online to radio, to events and exhibitions, and now OTT (over the top) video service provider.  While there is always hype over how politics should be reported, Wong advocated moderation and gentleness as SMG's brand. Wong also made history by becoming The Star's youngest group chief editor at 46 in 2007, a feat no Malaysian journalist has yet to match.

Datuk David Gurupatham - Lifestyle

If there is any place David hasn’t been, the chances are they aren’t worth enjoying. From catwalk modeling, yacht, scuba diving, supercars, private jet, mingling with the models, David has become known not just as one of the purveyor of high life, or more simply, the reference for enjoying the finer things in Malaysian life.

YAM Tunku Zain Al-Abidin ibni Tuanku Muhriz - High Culture

The Negeri Sembilan Prince has been a phenomenal patronage of the Malaysian arts and culture this year. With the aim of fostering a new Malaysian high culture, Tunku Zain had tirelessly met distinguished and experienced dramatists, actors, poets, dancers and musicians to gauge how friendly the new government will be to the arts.  With the aim to ensure that culture should feature prominently in every young Malaysian’s upbringing, we expect more assertive role played by Tunku Zain in influencing Malaysia's cultural ecosystem moving forward.

Roen Cian Nagapan - Chivalrous

Success, romance, fame and now parenthood— Roen Cian treat his wife - Carey Ng - like a princess. Dubbed as one of KL’s hottest power couples, Roen and Carey exude romance, affection, and respect for each other that were enviable. Roen sets the bar high in terms of "the code of chivalry", for others to emulate.

Hafizh Syahrin - Sportsman

Hafizh progression from pocket bike, to Cub Prix, Asia Road Racing Championship, Moto2 CEV, Moto2 and finally MotoGP has proven the path is clear and achievable for all aspiring Malaysians. He ended his MotoGP season 2018 on a high with a top-10 finish.  However, it is still a positive achievement for the 24-year-old who rode the weakest among the four Yamaha’s on the grid this year.

Abdul Rashid Hasnan - Breakthrough Sportsman

Rashid is a cracking sportsman. At just 18, he helped his country to deliver gold medal winning feat by beating Thailand 9-8 at the SEA Games 2017, the youngest ever men to play polo at the regional tournament. This year, he was selected in the South East Asian All Stars team beating Perth All Stars in the regional polo tournament in Perth, Australia. Throughout this year, he coached several polo players who played in the low-goal polo tournaments at the Royal Selangor Polo Club.
