October brings a season of quiet grandeur to the capital.

The month opens with the region's tourism, arts and culture leaders gathering at KLCC and closes with a royal bangsawan gala at Istana Budaya. In between, Puccini's Turandot returns to a Malaysian stage after more than two decades, a new contemporary art platform makes its debut, an intimate jazz room revisits the songs of a nation, and a founding maestro is remembered.

Here is where discernment should take you this month.

Reigning titleholder Chloe Lim will crown her successor, who then represents Malaysia at Miss Universe 2026 in Puerto Rico this November.
