With Emily in Paris returning to Netflix on December 18th, I can't help but think about my own European love affair - specifically, with Italy.

Rome has always been at the top of my bucket list. My husband and I were supposed to honeymoon there in 2020, but COVID had other plans, and we ended up in Switzerland instead (still magical, but not Rome).

Now, Minor Hotels has created something that feels like it was designed just for dreamers like me: Chic in Italy: Set-Jet Stays. It's a six-night journey through Rome, Venice, and Milan that goes far beyond the usual tourist experience. This is the Italy I've been imagining - where you don't just see the sights, you actually get to create alongside master artisans, taste real Roman cooking techniques, and discover hidden corners that most visitors never find.

nhow Roma, Rome.

Rome: Finally, My Moment

The adventure starts at nhow Roma, and honestly, just picturing myself in a vintage Vespa sidecar gliding through cobblestone streets makes my heart race. These aren't just photo ops -they're your actual transportation to authentic gelaterias that Romans have been going to for generations, and sun-soaked piazzas where prosecco tastes the way it's supposed to.

But here's what really excites me: Escape Roma – The Secret of the Eternal City. Imagine riding in a classic electric Fiat 500 convertible with a local historian who shows you the Rome that guidebooks miss. You're solving mysteries, talking to ancient statues (yes, really), and uncovering stories that have been hidden in plain sight for centuries. The day ends with a hands-on pasta-making class, and this isn't just watching someone cook - you're learning the real techniques, the kind that Italian grandmothers guard fiercely.

Venice: Creating Something Beautiful

Venice has always seemed like a dream, and at Avani Rio Novo Venice, that dream gets even better. In a private garden workshop, you work with Augusto - the actual mask maker who created pieces for Gossip Girl and Batman. You're not buying a mass-produced souvenir; you're designing your own Venetian mask under the guidance of someone whose work hangs in museums and private collections. I'm already imagining mine on my wall at home, a reminder of the moment I became part of Venice's artistic legacy.

Then there's Murano, where you get to try glassblowing with the masters whose creations end up in Fendi stores. These artisans usually work with fashion houses and serious collectors, so having this access feels incredibly special. And for early risers (guilty!), there's a sunrise running tour through Venice's quiet canals - the city waking up just for you, all golden light and empty piazzas.

Milan: Fashion Lover's Paradise

Milan is where my fashion-loving heart really soars. At NH Collection Milano CityLife, the vintage shopping experience is curated perfection - pre-loved Valentino, Chanel, Miu Miu, each piece with its own history. This is fashion as storytelling, and I'm here for every minute of it.

Then comes something I never knew I needed: creating my own custom lipstick and skincare at City Lab Cosmetics. In their actual laboratory, formulated specifically for you. It's personal, it's luxurious, and it's the kind of experience that makes you feel like you're truly taking care of yourself in the most beautiful way.

Making Dreams Real

Chic in Italy: Set-Jet Stays is available from November 2025 through June 2026, and it starts at EUR 1,024 per person (about USD 1,190 for two people sharing). That includes six nights with breakfast at all three stunning hotels - nhow Roma, Avani Rio Novo Venice, and NH Collection Milano CityLife - plus the Rome cooking class, Venice sunrise run, and Milan beauty workshop. You can add even more experiences if you want to dive deeper.

For everyone who's had Italy on their bucket list, who's postponed plans because the timing wasn't right, who's been waiting for the perfect moment - this feels like it. Not just visiting Italy, but really experiencing it. Learning from masters, creating with your own hands, discovering secrets that most people never see.

Rome, Venice, Milan - they've been calling to me for years. And finally, I know exactly how I want to answer.
