  1. MITICO GOES GLOBAL - BELMOND’S ARTISTIC SERIES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GALLERIA CONTINUA LAUNCHES AT SEVEN PROPERTIES IN ITALY, SPAIN, UK AND BRAZIL

This year Belmond will further its connection with the contemporary arts community with the expansion of MITICO; an artistic series in partnership with Galleria Continua - with the inclusion of seven Belmond hotels across the globe. Following the success of the first edition in Italy last year, new installations will debut at Castello di Casole, A Belmond Hotel, Tuscany; Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence and Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina. Meanwhile legendary properties La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca; Villa Sant’Andrea, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina Mare; Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, Rio de Janeiro; and Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, A Belmond Hotel, Oxfordshire will welcome installations for the very first time.   1. 150 YEARS OF GRAND HOTEL TIMEO, A BELMOND HOTEL, TAORMINA, A SICILIAN ICON OF TIMELESS RADIANCE

Back in 1873, Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel was the very first hotel to open in Taormina - inspiring great works of art and literature. The property’s 150th anniversary year will honour its treasured past, whilst savouring authentic flavours of its captivating present. Celebrations kick off with a series of culinary experiences led by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Roberto Toro, at the helm of the renowned Otto Geleng restaurant, overlooking Mount Etna. The hotel will also launch 150 limited edition bottles of volcanic wine in collaboration with renowned winery Pietradolce Etna, with hand painted labels created by local artist, Alessandro Florio.   1. LA RESIDENCIA, A BELMOND HOTEL, MALLORCA, LAUNCHES ‘ARTISTS IN RESIDENCIA’: AN ARTIST RESIDENCY PROGRAMME IN COLLABORATION WITH GALLERIA CONTINUA

In collaboration with the renowned international contemporary art gallery, Galleria Continua, La Residencia will soon reveal the three, emerging artists who will be taking over the new ‘Artists in Residencia’ programme this year. The successful creatives have been chosen by a committee of experts to create artwork that will be exhibited throughout the intimate mountainside enclave in Deià. Each two-month residency programme will give artists a room and studio at La Residencia, a monthly living grant, as well as production funding. Alongside this inaugural programme, La Residencia continues their Walk and Talk tours with curator Cecilie Sheridan.

    Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino, continues its legacy as an icon of style and elegance with the much-anticipated unveiling of the newly redesigned pool, pool restaurant and Baronessa Suite on 8 June 2023, as the property welcomes guests for the summer season. Led by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the hotel will reveal the transformation of the celebrated pool area, famously overlooking the sparkling Ligurian Bay; as well as introducing the new Splendido Grill restaurant and the renovated Baronessa Suite. Each seasonal reopening promises new, elevated spaces that capture the spirit of Ligurian craftsmanship and design.

Castello Di Casole, A Belmond Hotel, Tuscany embraces the farm-to-table philosophy with the launch of Orti del Castello, the Castello Vegetable Gardens. Across the hotel’s expansive 4,200 acres of land, Executive Chef Daniele Sera blends nature and gastronomy, cultivating vegetables, fruits, and edible flowers, complementing the estate’s existing homegrown products - wine, olive oil and honey. The sustainable cooking class showcases how the produce is cultivated and prepared, whilst the smaller vegetable garden offers an inviting, cypress-shaded space to enjoy workshops ranging from making herbal teas and natural cosmetics products to botanical eco-printing. The initiative is designed to immerse visitors in rural and rustic Tuscan life.

Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast will reopen for the season welcoming a new Executive Chef who will pay homage to the region’s ancient gastronomic traditions and further elevate the hotel’s commitment to protecting and promoting its cultural and culinary heritage. With a focus on the Mediterranean Diet, the new menus will celebrate locally sourced ingredients from the UNESCO-recognised National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, an inaugural collaboration for Caruso. In addition to these culinary delights, Caruso will also launch a new Aprea boat, taking guests along the picturesque coastline, celebrated worldwide for its iconic vistas.
