Networking curation company Just After Work (JAW) is hosting its debut networking event – The Gentleman’s Hour – in partnership with Kingsmen Barbershop, in conjunction with the first year anniversary of its flagship shop at Republik Damansara Heights.

The latest addition to KL’s lifestyle space, “The Gentleman's Hour” is a curated experience put together to celebrate the timeless gentleman, highlighting the importance of grooming for men by bringing together an exclusive class of entrepreneurs and professionals.

Kingsmen Barbershop presented guests with an unforgettable experience, treating them to an exclusive preview of new ways to elevate themselves while networking with like-minded professionals.

To complement the elegance of the night, Frangipaani Kuala Lumpur, a Michelin 2025 select winner, brought to the table an array of curated canapés and beverages for the evening.

The curated crowd of 80 professionals, lifestyle leaders and entrepreneurs were captivated by a grooming masterclass from the CEO of Kingsmen Barbershop himself, Osama “Sam” Fakhoury. Guests learned the secrets of grooming while getting a glimpse into why grooming for men is a critical piece of an entrepreneur’s journey to success.

The night was topped off with the newly launched Gentleman Awards, where three lucky winners walked away with a sparkling series of gems – emerald and sapphire – from Castiel Diamond. All guests took home a unique briefcase worth RM1,000 thanks to the event partners: Frangipaani, Castiel Diamond, Lelas Malaysia, Kahf Malaysia, Golden Concept Malaysia and Smile & Co. Dental Clinic.

The entertainment of the night, featuring live jazz music, a saxophonist, and fusion jazz DJ sets, was put together by JAW’s director and co-founder Jude Ashvin, who has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade.

Grooming for men, an underrated asset

The event’s theme was inspired both by Jude and Sam, who have first hand experience on the importance of grooming as entrepreneurs.

For Sam, grooming is ingrained into his personality and he believes that first impressions leave lasting messages, especially during business meetings. “Grooming isn’t just about looking good, it’s about making a statement. If you’re not standing out from head to toe, you’re basically invisible. We’re here to make sure that you always look perfectly unforgettable,” he says.

Kingsmen Barbershop also debuted its nail services for men. Selected guests were also treated to an express manicure, as well as given a tour of the newly set up nail treatment area at Kingsmen Barbershop Republik Damansara Heights.

Currently, this service is available on Sundays and Wednesdays only, with service days set to expand in the future. This will be available by appointment and for walk-ins as well.

Meanwhile, Jude believes that confidence is built from the outside and travels inwards, which has proven to be a powerful tool when closing business deals. The Gentleman’s Hour is the first of many networking events that will be able to add value and elevate the lifestyle of professionals.

“It’s not just about looking sharp, it’s about changing the conversation around what it means to be a modern gentleman who values self-care, confidence, and the business value that comes with it,” he says.
