Toyota Tour champions inclusivity at #GolfForGood event with Special Olympics Malaysia

Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia supports #GolfForGood to strengthen national agenda in promoting sports for athletes with all disabilities

The Toyota Tour, in collaboration with UMW Toyota Motor, Professional Golf of Malaysia (PGM), and MST Golf, held the inspiring #GolfForGood event with Special Olympics Malaysia (SOM). This event united professional golfers and SOM athletes, celebrating inclusivity in sports.

Highlights and Achievements

Notable attendees included the Honourable Yang Berhormat Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports, and other key figures from UMW Toyota Motor and MST Golf. Encik Nik Mustapha, General Manager of PGM, emphasized the importance of inclusivity and thanked the Ministry for their support.Ms. Kok Lee Min, National Director of SOM, celebrated the organization's 25th anniversary and their success at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, where Team Malaysia won multiple medals. SOM is now preparing for the 2027 Special Olympics World Games in Chile.

Commitment to Inclusivity

MST Golf provided 12 bi-weekly golf lessons to SOM athletes, covering essential skills. YB Puan Hannah Yeoh praised the initiative, highlighting the role of corporate contributions in fostering sports and community engagement.

A Vision for the Future

The event featured interactive activities between Toyota Tour players and SOM athletes, reinforcing the message of inclusivity. The Toyota Tour aims to bridge the gap between professional and amateur golf, making the sport accessible to all and supporting its growth in Malaysia. As Encik Nik Mustapha stated, “Together, we are creating special historic moments where golf transcends generations.”
