Critically-acclaimed Malaysian epic Pulang successfully marked its global debut in 190 countries via an exclusive premiere on Netflix.

Having first made its way into Malaysian cinemas on July 26 and then to Malaysian Netflix users on Sept 28, it has since reached out to a worldwide audience via the United States-based movie streaming platform.

Directed by the award-winning Kabir, Pulang tells the story of a fisherman from a small Malaysian village who takes a leap of faith and works on merchant ships travelling the world, hoping to return with riches for his wife and son.

Though he promised to return home, he was never seen again, leaving his grandson to uncover his story six decades later.

Starring Malaysian actors Remy Ishak and Puteri Aishah, the epic is filled with stunning cinematography, a majestic musical score and a beautiful story that unfolds across the world, from Malaysia to Hong Kong and to Liverpool.
